Using the Bell Mobility Mobile Browser With My Docs Online

This tutorial describes the basics of how to set up a Bell Mobility phone equipped with a Mobile Browser to access your My Docs Online account. MyDocsOnline provides you with "remote control" of your MyDocsOnline files, allowing you to SEND files to any email address as file attachments, FAX files to any North American fax machine, and to directly VIEW on the phone popular office files such as word processing files.

Finding MyDocsOnline on the Bell Mobility Phone

To login to your MyDocsOnline account from your Bell Mobility phone first launch the Mobile Browser.

NOTE: Registering from your desktop PC for a MyDocsOnline account is a prerequisite to wireless use.

Select "Today's Info," then select "Business," and finally, select "MyDocsOnline."

My Docs Online Wireless Login

Select "Login" by pressing "1".

Enter your My Docs Online Login ID. It is NOT case-sensitive.

Click "OK".

Enter your My Docs Online password. Passwords ARE case-sensitive. The password is displayed in ordinary readable text to make it easier to enter correctly.

Click "OK".

Bookmarking the MyDocsOnline Menu

BOOKMARK THE MENU! To avoid the repeated entry of your ID and password, use bookmark (or "Mark Site") after the MyDocsOnline Menu is displayed.

Access the Mark Site option by pressing and HOLDING the menu button. After marking the URL access MyDocsOnline later by selecting "Bookmarks" from the Home Page (press "7"), and then selecting the "MyDocsOnline" bookmark.

Remember, however, that this "Automatic Login" allows anyone who can use your phone to access your MyDocsOnline files.

From the MyDocsOnline Menu select "Show Folders".

Navigating and Selecting a Folder

Because of device limitations, and user interface conventions, the Folder List screen can display your Files From Others, "My Files" and up to seven additional Folders on one screen. If you have more Folders the additional selection "More" will appear below selection nine. The number of files contained in each folder is shown in parentheses. Scroll to select a folder (or "More" to display additional folders) and press the Accept ("OK") Key.

Navigating and Selecting a File

The File List screen displays up to nine files in a particular folder (and "More..." if there are more than nine files in the folder). Scroll to select the file you need to send (or "More..." to display additional files) and press the Accept ("OK") Key.

Selecting an Action

After selecting a file, select the Action you want to perform with the file. These include:
  • Send as Attachment

The selected file will be emailed as a file attachment to the recipient email address you specify. The email subject and accompanying message default to generic messages you will see displayed on the phone. You can modify these if needed.

  • Send as Fax

If your account is eligible for this option the selected file will be sent as a fax to the phone number you specify. Type the North American area code and 7-digit number when prompted. Additional fields you will see displayed include Recipient's name, Re:, and Cover message.

  • View File

Popular office file formats, including Word, Word Perfect, RTF, and Adobe PDF, can be converted and viewed on the phone. This feature is particularly useful when emails containing attached files of supported types are forwarded to your user-ID@myattachments.com, which will result in the files appearing in your Attachments folder.
