My Docs Online Introduces Wireless Interface for Pocket PC, Enabling Document Management, Expanded File Storage

Users can wirelessly download files, view files, and send files as attachments or as faxes - extending the power and reach of the Pocket PC

Naples, FL. - October 4, 2001 - My Docs Online, a leader in remote file access and wireless messaging solutions, today announced the immediate availability of a new interface for Windows Powered Pocket PCs. The new interface provides Pocket PC users with an inexpensive, easy-to-use, remote file access solution for managing their important files and documents when working away from the office. The My Docs Online service allows subscribers to store 50MB or more of files on a fully secure hosted "virtual drive". The user may then access, download, view, email and print/fax documents — all from their wireless Pocket PC.

Additionally, the My Docs Online service greatly expands data storage of the Pocket PC by providing a nearly limitless file storage capacity via the My Docs Online virtual drive. Pocket PC users may store hundreds of data files and documents on their My Docs Online virtual drive, thus preserving their Pocket PC physical storage for program files and applications.

"Pocket PC 2002 has a great advantage in the marketplace because it is designed to be the most connected and expandable PDA available," said Chris Hill, product manager, Microsoft. "We are pleased that My Docs Online is taking advantage of the new feature functionalities of Pocket PC 2002 with its introduction of My Docs Online Virtual Drive Service that will allow users access, download, view, email and print/fax documents from their wireless Pocket PC."

"There is no product that comes close to the level of simplicity and usefulness of My Docs Online for the Pocket PC," said Hector Velez, Computer Sciences Instructor at Bunker Hill Community College in Charlestown, MA. "I can access my files anywhere wirelessly from my Pocket PC. No clumsy FTP to deal with and good down-load speed."

"Our goal is to provide mobile professionals with a wireless feature set that is functionally similar to that found in the desktop environment " said Steve Dempsey, President of My Docs Online. "The addition of our new, wireless interface for the Pocket PC greatly extends the power and reach of the Pocket PC platform by adding a "virtual network drive" capability, print/fax functions, and email file attachment handling."

My Docs Online's wireless Pocket PC service provides each user with 50MB of storage, wireless access, and file sharing capabilities. Subscription pricing starts at $9.95 per quarter, with optional fax packages available for faxing in North America. In addition to the Pocket PC, My Docs Online supports all other major wireless platforms, including PalmOS, RIM BlackBerry pagers, Web-enabled phones, and Motorola 2-way pagers equipped with Motorola's vClient.
